About Kyrstie

Kyrstie is an emerging ceramic artist, based in Geelong, drawing deep inspiration from the natural beauty of the Bellarine Peninsula.

A published author & passionate gardener, she is somewhat obsessed with Italy – it’s art, architecture, people, lifestyle and of course the food. Kyrstie returns to Umbria in October for a ceramics retreat in the heart of the Italian countryside.

Kyrstie’s edible garden provides an endless source of inspiration. Leaves, flowers, and moments in the garden shape her work and spark new ideas. Each piece comes to life slowly and intentionally over hours of immersion, evolving organically to reflect the natural world.

Her creations are deeply influenced by the seasons, beauty, travel and family.

In her home studio (and life!), Kyrstie embraces sustainability, recycling clay and materials to minimise waste and honor the environment that inspires her.

Evoking peace, and a sense of serene contemplation.

Each Garden Watcher is individually created by adding small pieces of clay to a flat circular piece, creating features as the pieces built up.

A note about handmade

You are purchasing a hand built, one-of a kind piece with variations, imprints, and minor imperfections. Pieces are not uniform in size, feature or colour. This is all part of their story and uniqueness. Every Garden Watcher has a unique number.

Handmade pottery sometimes cracks and may have crazing or inconsistency in the glaze. Items listed on this site are fired at high temperature, so there is nothing toxic or dangerous that will leach from a piece. Glazes used are food grade.

Some Garden Watchers occasionally crack at the back of the piece. If this is the case please know that this will not impact the longevity. Pieces that happen to have a crack on the facial surface are not usually sold on the site, unless as a “second”.

Garden Watchers withstand the outdoor elements, sun, rain, heat and cold. Wall vases obviously hold water & are water tight!
